The Riding Academy: Classes Begin

Tuesday, February 19, 2013

Back in November of 2012, Margo and Daisy officially became students of the Lawrence Equestrian Riding Academy, and establishment built by Christina of Equus-Sims who has kindly let me use it in my story!

In Desperate Sims, LEC's Academy hosts classes for students from Beginners to Intermediate level--currently, both Margo and Daisy are "beginners" in the story, but I've used them both in some Advanced competitions for kicks and giggles. ;)

There are also several other sims who Margo and Daisy are competing with at the Academy:

More about them after the break!

Rena Humble - Property of Lizbeth-Sims
Daisy de Wynter - Mine
Bridget Davenport - Property of Christina from Equus-Sims
Christina Hanson (Instructor) - Property of Christina from Equus-Sims
Rachel Andrews (Instructor) - Property of Rachel from Equus-Sims
Margo May Kane - Mine

All the students are between the ages of 13-17 years old, but are all from different parts of the surrounding area of Appaloosa Plains; in fact, a majority of the class actually lives in Twinbrook, which currently does not have its own teaching establishment.

The class meets every Saturday afternoon, training in many disciplines, but as each rider/horse pairing develops, they are entered into competitions based on their talents as a team. This gives the Academy a presence in all competitions, but keeps from forcing any rider into participating in an event they aren't comfortable with.

Or at least--that's how I figure they operate, I'm no expert! Most of this takes place "off camera" from the story, but if you're curious about more of their going-ons, Margo will probably continue to write about them in her journal.

The following images are from a the entry describing Margo's first experience attending classes:

unfortunately, its going to be a long, hard road.

if working at the ranch has taught me anything, its this: spending time with horses might sound like a lot of fun, but its not easy. it looks glamorous from the outside, but on the inside it comes with a lot of blood, sweat and tears. its going to stink. its going to hurt. its going to be stressful and confusing and goddammit, i can feel the fear already welling inside of me.

but i know im going to love every minute of it.
